Welcome to BitQuests!

Keep or Seek?

With BitQuests you can be a seeker of coin or a keeper, both help you participate in a growing community of people who want to have fun and increase awareness of cryptocurrency!
What is BitQuest?

BitQuest is a scavenger hunt for paper bitcoin wallets that are hidden in unique locations. By following a series of clues or simply showing up to locations around the globe, you can find your way to the bitcoin reward. It is easily transferred to your own wallet from your mobile phone.

Don’t know much about cryptocurrency? We make it easy to get started. The paper wallet gives instructions on how to transfer and sell for cash if you’re unfamiliar with Bitcoin, or if you just want the dollars.

Why should I care?

Free money, of course! BitQuest gives you the opportunity to find and exchange digital currency in a real world adventure. Giving Bitcoin can help you to unlock clues, and anyone can add more money to the “treasure-quest”. You can watch the balance on the blockchain without being on-location.

For Tourism- Encourage and incentivize people to visit recreational, historic, or conservation areas in a novel way!

For Businesses- Create an engaging feature to attract more people, and reward them for their efforts.

For Individuals- Be part of a community where fun and earnings overlap!

What is bitcoin?

Imagine sending money to someone, just like an email. There isn’t a central company that manages all emails. It’s done through a protocol. Just like the one in your address bar – HTTP. With Bitcoin, you’re sending digital money in that same way. But, without a bank to handle the transaction? Don’t need it! People like you and I run their computers. Collectively, we run the math and verify the transactions because everyone has a copy of a big ledger that shows every transaction ever made.

So, just like the internet, you can’t turn it off.

What’s this paper wallet I speak of? It’s basically two keys- one is public that you use to receive Bitcoin, and the other one you keep hidden and secret. That’s the key you use to spend it.

Still confused? That’s ok!

Think of it this way: Imagine a scavenger hunt where you’re trying to find a hidden blank check, and the amount could change. Anyone could add to that amount from anywhere in the world, within minutes, like an email or text. But nobody can spend it, unless they find the actual check with the signature on it.

That’s a paper Bitcoin wallet.

How do I play?
Well you can either become a seeker or a keeper.

A seeker is someone who follows the clues and finds the hidden bitcoin wallet. They get experience points for each one completed.

A keeper is someone who hosts a bitquest. Usually it’s a business like a restaurant or hotel. However a seeker can level up enough to become a keeper. Keepers earn experience points based on amount of the prize and # of seekers on the quest.

Once you accept a bitquest you might unlock a clue by ordering a drink or finding some words to lead to other clues. A clue could also be a QR code which could lead to a small bitcoin amount with a message to unlock a clue.

A keeper can designate how much of each transaction towards a bitquest goes to either them or to the prize bitcoin wallet. This information will be visible so you know if your money goes to the prize you’re after, the keeper, or a mix of both.

When can I start?
As soon as possible! Bitquests is working with destinations around the country to implement on a larger scale soon.

Impatient and ready to Quest? Lend a hand! The more help we get the faster it will happen. Keep up with us on social media to follow our progress, be part of the early stages of an evolving community!
